Hall 1 (“Großer Sendesaal”)

The spacious hall 1 represents the heart of the Funkhaus. The architect Franz Ehrlich realized a rare room-in-room construction providing a perfect sound insulation and creating acoustic conditions, which are unique in the world. 250 seats in theatre-style arrangement are available. Many renowned musicians of classical music like Murray Perahia, Hélène Grimaud, or representatives of the rock/pop genre like Die Ärzte, Black Eyed Peas, Ryan Dan or Portishead have already held recordings, productions or events in this wonderful location.

Hall 2 (“Kleiner Sendesaal”)

Hall 2 is the “little brother” of the world-famous Hall 1, it also offers excellent acoustic conditions due to its special construction. Both halls range among the top recording locations in the world and supplement each other perfectly. Until the end of 2007 the hall was rented to the Babelsberger Filmorchester for rehearsals and recordings. With regard to events, the smaller size of Hall 2 is more suitable for smaller events, offering even more flexibility in terms of seating.
