In order to celebrate his 40th stage anniversary, rock musician Peter Maffay publishes a new album with the title „Tattoos“. Backed up by the VW Philharmonic Orchestra some of his greatest hits were recorded again and partly rearranged. But it contains also new and very personal Maffay songs. The new album was presented during an inspiring concert at the Tempodrom. The rehearsals for this concert took place at the Funkhaus in the beautiful and historic Recording Hall 2. On Wednesday, November 18th a trailer of the film adaptation of the drama by Uwe-Karsten Heye starring Maria Furtwängler and directed by Miguel Alexandre was presented on a press conference at the Funkhaus Berlin. Parts of the film were shot in the historic rooms of the Funkhaus. It is the story of his mother Ursula Heye, who, just like numerous other women of that time, was mulcted of the love of her live and the profession she would have chosen by the Second World War. With ingenuity, endless exertion, and at the cost of great privations she manages to support her family. The film narrates the day-to-day life of Ursula Heye and her family over two decades and with this gives a new biographic direction to this genre. More at the photo gallery:

The German Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra is one of the best orchestras in the world. After the overwhelming success of the new interpretation of the Beethoven symphonies, the next coup is already in store: Conducted by Paavo Järvi The German Philharmonic Orchestra Bremen will record the four Schumann symphonies. Again, the recording will take place in the famous large recording hall at the Funkhaus, where the orchestra started the recording cycle with the „Rheinische Sinfonie“ in December.
